Danny-Jordan: The Relationship
- Some points about the Relationship between Jordan and Danny:
- Danny tells Jordan, “You look like one of them but you talk like one of us.” (”The Focus Group”)
- When Jordan announces to Matt and Danny that their second show retained 109% of the audience of the first show, she kisses Matt on the cheek and Danny on the mouth. (”The Focus Group“)
- Danny says to Jordan, “We’re having a baby.” Jordan corrects him, “I’m having a baby.” But Danny just says, “Relax, you’ll be involved.” (”The Christmas Show“)
- Danny to Jordan, “I’ve been married twice before and I’m a recovering cocaine addict and I know that’s no woman’s dream of a man. Or of a father. Nonetheless I believe I’m falling in love with you. If you want to run I understand, but you better get a good head start because I’m coming for you, Jordan.” (”The Christmas Show“)
- Danny has many people fax Jordan recommendation letters about Danny, himself. Jordan confronts him, “This was embarrassing to me Danny…. This was unprofessional. You made me look silly…. Between us we have three marriages, a DUI, a cocaine addiction, and a baby by another man. And I’m your boss. You asked me out once, I said no. You asked me again, I said no. You asked me out again, I no.”
“I’m sorry.” Danny says, “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.”
“Will you please stop?”
“No.” (”Monday“) - Danny thinks it over and apologizes in then next episode, “I wanted to tell you, I’m sorry. I feel terrible I embarrassed you with the letters and it will all stop now and go back to normal.”
“Well— Okay.” (from “The Harriet Dinner”) - While Danny and Jordan are locked on the roof, he explains why he brought them up them up there, “I wanted to talk to you so I could apologize, which I have done. I fell for you, told you, I courted you every hour of every day. What a jackass am I.”
And Jordan tells him how she saw his behavior, “You felt sorry for me. You ambushed me. You embarrassed me every hour of every day.”
“Felt sorry for you?”
“Yes, you are a jackass.”
“I felt sorry for you for what?”
“Being pregnant by myself.”
This sets Danny back for a moment while he digests what she said and then he asks, “How can someone so smart and beautiful be so consistantly wrong and dumb?”
“Is this you courting me?”
